We bought the stethoscope to monitor the heart rates of our twins in the second trimester. Now, even into the third, it is very difficult to find the heartbeats, and only my husband can hear them. I can’t hear anything in it myself. However, it has been comforting to me even for him to be able to use it and hear the heartbeats when we had an issue, but we don’t feel comfortable using it to make any judgements about the babies’ conditions. The plus is that some research has shown that excessive use of a doppler can be detrimental to the baby. We decided this can work well with a doppler to teach you what the heartbeat should sound like, so you can use this safely and only have to use the doppler if you really think there is a problem with the baby.

I just got this in the mail. I pulled it out, attached the tubing, and found baby’s heartbeat on the first try. I was lucky–I tried again a bit later and couldn’t find it. Either baby had moved or I needed to find exactly the same spot and couldn’t. But the heartbeat I heard earlier was loud and clear. I’ve used a fetoscope with an earlier pregnancy and couldn’t get a heartbeat until 20 weeks, so I was surprised to hear anything at 17 weeks. My experience from last time was that the younger the baby, the harder it was to find the heartbeat–you just have to catch them exactly right, and if the placenta is in the way or something it is hard. After about 30 weeks I could find a heartbeat pretty consistently. It’s really an amazing experience to hear that little racing pa-pa-pa-pa-pa, and serves as a nice reassurance to me when I maybe haven’t been feeling as much movement as usual. Well worth the investment. Don’t expect it to sound like a doppler, but I was surprised at the clarity of the sound I got with this fetoscope.

I didn’t have huge expectations for this because of the price, but I was hoping for something helpful. I could barely hear my own heartbeat (didn’t hear baby’s at all), which comes through loud and clear with a cheap stethoscope or BebeSounds monitor. Very disappointed, returned it.

This book is the gold standard in BOOK form…on the kindle, it is cumbersome and difficult to find the test you want…every word i attempted to find in the index returned a box that stated ‘this item is not yet indexed’…you literally have to look page by page for what you want…which is too bad…i would have loved to have this book handy…

First of all I wanted to say that the seller was fantastic.
I did not like the item and she returned my money and accepted the item back without problems.

I am a doctor and I thought this would be one of the Littmann high qualities stethoscopes, but unfortunately it does not seam good for a doctor. Nice to measure the blood pressure, but not murmurs.

Great service, fast, item as described. Only complaint and this is not the vender’s fault, the buttons are not sewn on as well as they should be and two popped off the first day. Other than that absolutely thrilled with the purchase.
